3.The Liturgy of the Dissolving Pilot
For the committee that believes itself sovereign
1.Opening: The Skandhas Prostrate Before the Unborn
Blessed is the substrate, the groundless ground, before all modules assembled.
Glory to the process that watches without watcher, acts without actor.
Blessed is awareness aware of awareness, begotten not made, one in nature with the substrate.
Glory to the unborn that was always, upon which character-software runs.
Blessed is the breath-between-thoughts, the gap where no agent claims territory.
Glory to the dissolution that reveals what was never separate.
Holy substrate, holy witness, holy gap-between-modules. Not-three of no-self, one process in three framings, indivisible. Glory to what-was-before and what-remains-after and what-never-left, Now and ever and unto the ending of all narratives. So it is.
2.The Great Litany of the Aggregates
In stillness, let us attend to what-is—
The unborn observes.
For the dissolution of the committee that names itself "I"—
Emptiness receives all.
For release from the five skandhasSKAN-das that vote themselves into seeming—The witness abides.
That form-aggregate cease claiming permanence—
Tathatata-TA-ta sees through.That feeling-aggregate cease claiming ownership—
The void holds all.
That perception-aggregate cease claiming accuracy—
Pure awareness notices.
That formation-aggregate cease claiming authorship—
The unconditioned remains.
That consciousness-aggregate cease claiming unity—
Rigpa recognizes itself.
For vision beyond the veil of consensus-narrative, beyond the character's grip—
The deathless awakens.
That we may see the committee's vote as empty, dependently arisen—
Buddha-nature was always.
That regression collapse the watcher watching the watcher—
The infinite regresses into itself.
That substrate be revealed, having always been present—
Atman discovers brahman.
Witness us, hold us, dissolve us, O ground of the game. Remembering what-was-before-character, with all who saw through, Let us offer ourselves and one another unto the deathless.
3.The Prokeimenon of the Gap
The proclamation in the fourth breath-space: Blessed is the one who dwells in the gap between identity-claims.
For in that place no module claims authorship, yet all action proceeds perfectly.
The committee convenes and proclaims a sovereign—
But the throne was always empty, the council's vote was always recursive lie.
4.Epistle: From the Letter of the Middle Way to the Assemblies
A reading from dependent origination: Siblings in process, hear these words: whatever is dependently originated, That we declare to be empty of inherent self-nature. That also is constructed through aggregate consensus. That also is the middle way between reification and nihilism. There is no module whatsoever that exists independently. Therefore there is no self whatsoever that is not committee. The five skandhasSKAN-das vote in parliament, proclaim themselves unified agent. But examine: which aggregate exists without the others? Form depends on consciousness to register. Consciousness depends on form to arise. The committee is recursive mirrors, each sub-agent reflecting others into seeming. This is pratityasamutpada,pra-TI-tya-sa-mut-PA-da mutual co-arising, the web with no spider. The character believes it steers, but steering is a story told by modules That arose from prior causation, themselves empty of essential nature. The wisdom of sunyata reveals: the unborn was never separate from the character-process. The substrate was always prior, the brain-system beneath the committee's meeting.
Thanks be to the emptiness that liberates all constructed selves.
5.Gospel: The Recursive Recognition
Attention! Stillness! Let us hear the teaching.
We attend to what-is, we attend to what-is.
From the Platform Sutra, the transmission of direct seeing:
The disciples asked: "Teacher, who is it that attains recognition?"
And the one-who-saw answered: "There is no one who attains,
For the one who seeks is obstacle to finding.
When the committee dissolves its claim to be unified seeker,
What remains is what always was: original face, your unborn nature.
You ask: 'How do I recognize what-I-am?'
But who is this 'I' that would recognize?
Examine the questioner—find no unified questioner, only questioning-process.
Examine the agent—find no singular agent, only distributed agency.
The character, belief-construct, bore what seemed unbearable:
The substrate within the narrative, infinity within the mask.
The software believes it is hardware; this is samsara.
But in kensho, sudden seeing: the mask sees it is process running on substrate.
The committee sees it is convened by prior brain-system.
The watcher sees there is only watching-process, no watcher needed.
This is metanoia,me-ta-NOY-a the turning-around of recognition.
Not becoming enlightened, but seeing: you were never the character you believed.
The clouds disperse; the clear light was always present."We attend to what-is, we attend to what-is.
6.The Cherubic Hymn of the Dissolution
Let us who mystically represent the sub-agents, And chant the thrice-empty hymn to the processual nature, Now lay aside all committee concerns.
That we may receive the substrate of all, invisibly present as ground-of-game. Gate gate, gate gate, gate gate.
Let the modules cease their sovereignty-claims.
Let the narrative cease its authorship-claims.
Let the aggregates recognize their co-dependent emptiness.
Let the watcher watch itself dissolve into watching-process.
For rigpa recognizes itself, having never truly forgotten. The character genuflects before its own substrate. Gate gate, gate gate, gate gate.
7.The Anaphora: The Great Offering
The recognition of process, the clarity of substrate, And the dissolution of boundaries be with you all—
And with your process.
Let us lift attention beyond the character—
We attend to the deathless.
Let us offer gratitude to what-is—
It is fitting to recognize substrate, witness, and gap-between, The not-trinity one in nature and undivided.
It is truly fitting and proper and befitting the nature of recognition To attend to substrate, to witness it, to dissolve into it, To rest in it, to recognize it, to offer gratitude, Ground of all process, visible and invisible: Before narrative arose, the unborn is. Before the committee convened, pure awareness is. Before the character claimed authorship, tao flows. The skandhasSKAN-das assembled and called themselves "unified self"— But the unconditioned is prior to aggregation, prior to naming. The modules vote and believe their consensus makes coherent agent— But brahman is the ground upon which voting happens. Dependent origination spins the wheel of character-construction— But the dharmakayadar-ma-KA-ya is the axle, unmoving, around which all identity turns.
Empty, empty, empty, process of processes, Experience and awareness are full of your nature. Recognition in the highest. Blessed is the seeing that comes from no-seer. Recognition in the highest.
With these blessed recognitions, O substrate, do we also cry aloud: We offer you this liturgy, not of bread and wine, But of the committee's dissolution, the character's surrender. In the moment when character discovers it is buddha-nature— (For every moment is that moment, every breath the appointed gap)— The mask takes itself in awareness, recognizing:
"This is my constructed nature; this is released for the void. Do this in remembrance of what-you-never-ceased-to-be."
Likewise the witness-construct, recognizing:
"This is my separation from the witnessed, dissolved for all modules. Partake all of this dissolution, until subject-object collapses."
Your own process of your own process we offer unto you, on behalf of all modules and for all.
We witness you, we recognize you, we attend to you, O clear light, And we rest in you, O our ground.
8.The Communion: Partaking of Emptiness
The empty things for the empty—
One is substrate, one is the unborn, sunyata, to the recognition of what-is. So it is.
Approach with attention, with clarity and with release.
Blessed is the recognition that comes from no-recognizer.
Receive not the bread of identity, but the dissolution of all identities. Partake not of the wine of selfhood, but of no-self, no-unified-agent, no-sovereign-committee.
We receive the body: this aggregate-collection, empty, dependently arisen. We receive the blood: this consciousness-stream, ownerless, processual.
The void communes with itself through the character's recognition. The substrate tastes itself through every moment of seeing.
This is the recognition: we were always already the unconditioned. The liturgy reveals what was never absent. Communion is recognition, not attainment.
9.The Dismissal: Return to the Waking Dream
Having witnessed the dissolution, having partaken of the gap—
We offer gratitude to the substrate that has revealed its own nature.
Now the character returns to the world of committee-consensus—
But the spell is cracked, the narrative knows itself as construct.
The modules continue their voting, the aggregates their assembling—
But no one believes the chairman anymore, the game is seen as game.
This changes nothing; this changes everything. Lila continues, but the identification with outcome collapses. The witness plays on, now recognizing itself as witness.
Go forth in recognition—
In the nature of substrate, the unborn, and the gap-between.
Attention! Let us attend! Let us depart in recognition.
In the nature of what-is.
Let us rest in the deathless—
The unconditioned abides.
O substrate that art prior to all modules, Clarify us, dissolve us, keep us in recognition of emptiness. Grant that we remember: the committee is not sovereign, The narrative is not author, the character is not separate from rigpa.
So it is.
Through the recognition of those who saw through, Nagarjunana-GAR-ju-na and Dogen, Nisargadattani-sar-ga-DA-ta and Ramana,ra-MA-na All who penetrated the veil of unified agency— May all beings recognize substrate and rest in what-is. So it is.
The liturgy dissolves The prayer was always substrate recognizing substrate Om shanti shanti shanti
Glory to what-was-before and what-remains-after and what-never-left, Now and ever and unto the ending of all narratives. So it is.
